BBC Angel Food Ministry

Angel Food Ministries, founded by Joe & Linda Wingo, is a Christian, non-profit non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. God has continued to bless and grow this outreach effort, providing a quality, low cost grocery supplement to hundreds of thousands of families across 32 states. How Does Angel Food Ministries Work?

	Angel Food Ministries sells their groceries for $30 per box. This is a savings of at least half of what you would pay if you purchased these same items at your local grocery store. Most participants are very surprised at how much food they are able to purchase for only $25; especially on their first time through the process.
	Once a month, a new menu is offered, consisting of both fresh and frozen items, including fresh meats, vegetables, and eggs. The food is not outdated or damaged. This is quality product provided by the same distributors that supply our local grocery chains; in many cases name brands.
	One basic box of food will assist in feeding a family of 4 for approximately one week, or a single adult or senior citizen for a month. We ask that you bring a box or container to transport your food from the church; a large laundry basket will work well.
	Also offered are specialty boxes such as steaks, chicken and pork. There are no limits to the number of specialty boxes an individual may purchase but you must first purchase at least one regular box.
	Orders can be made prior to church services on Sunday, morning and evening services, or can be made at the Bayshore Baptist Church office.
	You need to place your order “in person” (no email or phone orders); and you will then receive a receipt. You, or your agent, must present a receipt in order to receive your Angel Food order.
	We distribute food once a month on scheduled Saturdays from 8:30 to 10:30 (noon). The doors are closed at noon. We do not make calls to remind or warn people that the noon deadline is approaching. Any unclaimed food is then turned over to our benevolence church committee and is distributed to the needy. We do not hold food after noon or refund money for unclaimed food; we are not equipped to provide those services. After noon the food becomes the property of the ministry and is donated immediately to our church benevolence efforts.
	There are no limits to the number of boxes an individual can purchase. There are no applications or qualifications, so everyone can participate in the program.
	Individuals may also purchase boxes of food to donate to someone in need.
	Those involved in the Angel Food ministry here at Bayshore Baptist Church are volunteers. While many volunteers are members of the church, you do not have to be a member of the church to reap the benefits of serving the Lord through this ministry.
